I had a great time at our 40th Reunion!
Saying farewell to all of you was as tough, or tougher, than saying goodbye at graduation. As Roger Kaufman and I decided yesterday, when we ran into each other at the Weston Center, this reunion, was a huge positive experience. It was extra special. "Why do you think that was, Brian", Roger asked. We decided, it was so contrary to the tragedy and negative input that we receive from the News media on a daily basis. For a short time, we were taken away from all that. Our 40th Reunion, could not have come at a better time or been a more Welcome Experience. I can truthfully say, that just the thought of reconnecting with friends that go back a far as kindergarten, and making a new connection with those that I hardly knew in school, brings tears to my eyes. Thank you all for being there, and making my experience far better than I could ever have imagined. Special thanks to Ann and Bill for making available their most Spectacular Home for all of us to gather, rekindle our friendships and make new ones. I was so pleased to have been given a new opportunity to contribute to an alumni scholarship fund, put together by members of OUR Class of 1966. This is such an honor! Friday night was blast, and Sunday at Compo placed the topping on the cake. Thank you Johnno, Lisa, Gail, Jeremy, Steve, Lynn and everyone else who worked so hard to put this all together for us. And special thanks to my good buddy John Paul Coniglio and his lovely wife Kathy for putting up with me for several days. In my opinion, there is no way that this past weekend could have been any better than it was. - Brian Stoddard July 31, 2006 |
